Interim Executive Training

The Synods of Mid-America and Lincoln Trails (MALT) have joined together to provide interim executive training every fall. Contact Kristi Miller, kristi@lincolntrails.org, for information about upcoming training.

Interim Executive Training is reserved for those:

  • Who are already in an interim executive/general/associate presbyter or synod position.
  • Who are scheduled to begin an interim executive/general/associate presbyter or synod position.
  • Who are serving or who have served as an executive/general/associate presbyter or synod executive/associate with references from two other governing body peers.
  • Who have been recommended by their governing body as having particular gifts for interim executive/general/associate presbyter or synod work with a recommendation from their Committee on Ministry and their immediate executive/general presbyter or synod executive/associate.

PREREQUISITES

Enrollment is strictly limited to 12 persons who have completed at least 30 hours of basic interim training prior to the beginning of interim executive training. Click here for more information about basic interim training. Click here for the registration form.
 

LEARNING GOALS

During the 20 hours of class time, learning will focus on:
  • Identifying and working with multiple layers of organizational system complexity;
  • Identifying and working with multiple cultures within an organizational system;
  • Identifying and working with governing body infrastructure
  • Applying the interim process and developmental tasks to governing bodies.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

Interim Executive Training is offered in conjunction with MALT Basic Interim Pastor Training each fall. The event begins at 3 p.m. on Friday and ends at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Commuters are welcome with the understanding that they will participate fully in all sessions. Because of the limited registration there will be no cost deductions for commuters.

FEES

The cost of the training is $585. A $100 deposit is required with registration. Participants will be accepted in the order in which complete registrations (including COM, governing body, and/or peer recommendations) are received.

Fees cover:

  • Faculty costs
  • Meeting space
  • All materials provided for the training
  • 3 nights lodging
  • 3 dinners, 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

  • Prior to registration deadline: 100% refund of fees
  • Up to two weeks following registration deadline: 50% refund of fees.
  • After two weeks following registration deadline: NO refund of fees.
